Tonight while I was putting on Trew's pj's, he was unusually happy during what is usually a not so happy moment in his day. As I made the final snap, he began "googling" at me. So I "googled" back. Back & forth we went - me copying him, him copying me.
Then out of nowhere, Trew's face was filled with smiles and a mini-sized "ha ha ha" was heard! Trew's first LOL!
Priceless!
A few moments later he did it again. I couldn't contain myself and I joined in his laughter. Then my laughter turned to tears realizing that I was alone. Alan is in Nashville this week and is missing out on this milestone.
As sad as I was that Alan wasn't there, I learned an interesting lesson. I learned that there are so many "firsts" that are happening in Trew's life. But there are still so many to experience! I might be the one that misses his first step, his first home run or his first slam dunk! The important thing is that he's alive and those FIRSTS are HIS to experience.
We are his coaches and cheerleaders. All of us are better people because Trew is in our world. Whether we see his first laugh or hear about it, we are better because of it.
You brought Trew to this earth so he could FEEL what it's like to laugh, to cry, to jump, to fall. Hold your head up high and your heart open wide. Let his FIRST laughter reach you tonight and look forward to many, many more! Kisses to you from baby Trew - always!

Milestones
This week Trew will be 3 months old. I don't know a lot about early childhood development but I thought I'd share with you some of the recent milestones of baby Trew. I know that they might not be record breaking, but they are milestones in our book.
1. He can kick his legs continuously, especially when I say "Kick, baby, Kick!"
2. He can roll from his side to his tummy.
3. He can drink 6 ounces of formula at once and is sometimes hungry for more.
4. He can watch the mobile of fish above his swing for at least 30 minutes.
5. He can sleep 6 hours in his crib.
And finally,
6. He can smile at anyone who smiles at him (within 12 inches).
Here are some images from the Black Ridge Triathlon on July 30th, 2011.
Pre-race good luck kisses!
Go Team MAX!!!
